How Install-It-Direct is responding to COVID-19

The emergence of the coronavirus (COVID-19) is an evolving situation with many unknowns, so we wanted to offer this resource to our existing and potential clients. Below you’ll find the answer to commonly asked questions about our operations during this pandemic. We understand that in times like this, home improvement and landscape design can take a backseat to more pressing issues. We truly appreciate each and every customer that has chosen to support our local business.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Install-It-Direct still open?

Yes, we are still open, however, all our employees are working from their individual homes due to Gavin Newsom’s “stay at home” order put into effect Thursday evening (March 19th, 2020)! It is important for us to support our employees during these times in addition to providing you with landscape design services. Our physical office located at 7310 Miramar Rd #300, San Diego, CA 92126 is CLOSED to walk-in traffic, however, we are conducting office visits by appointment only at this time.

How are design meetings taking place?

With Governor Newsom’s order, we are currently performing a vast majority of our appointments remotely where we collaborate with our clients virtually via FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Zoom, Skype, phone, text, and email. If an on-site appointment is necessary, we can do so with social distancing (No Contact) in mind (to slow the spread of COVID-19) and remain outdoors.

Are scheduled installations still taking place?

Yes, our services are listed on the Essential Critical Infrastrastructure list so we are continuing our operations until further notice. The only thing that may cause an installation to be postponed would be inclement weather or material delays.

Will there be a delay in shipping for ordered products and/or materials?

It depends. With Governor Newsom’s mandate, we received notices from a few suppliers of closures and/or shipping delays, however, a vast majority of our suppliers are still open for business.

How are you handling installations that are in progress?

All active installations are proceeding as planned. The only thing that may cause an installation to be postponed would be inclement weather or material delays.

Will IID be able to weather the Covid-19 storm financially speaking?

Yes, without a doubt. IID is an 11-year-old, debt-free, profitable, and healthy company with some of the lowest team member turnover in the industry. We aren’t going anywhere and are very much looking forward to resuming our full operations as soon as we are able.

Is IID still servicing San Diego and Orange County?

While we still serve the San Diego County area, we have unfortunately paused services in Orange County due to the pandemic. We are, however, now providing putting green installation and synthetic turf services in Temecula and Murrieta, California. Take a look at our locations page for future updates.

Let’s Work Together To Protect California

We can help slow the spread of coronavirus in California by working together as a community. There are everyday preventative measures and practices that our team and all of us can employ to stay healthy:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unclean hands.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • At home and at work, clean frequently touched surfaces.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
