Project Story

Overview

An unmaintained front yard in Vista, 92081, with little character became a front yard with a 650 square foot Imperial Augusta putting green and three cups, about 465 square feet of Belgard Catalina Grana pavers, 30 new plants and about 850 square feet of mulch on drip irrigation. The crew built it in about two weeks, May 4 to May 19, 2026.

The Challenge

  • The front yard was unmaintained and overgrown with old vegetation.
  • It lacked character and gave no reason to use the space.
  • There was no hardscape to walk on or to define the yard.

What Changed

The unmaintained front yard now has a 650 square foot putting green, Belgard Catalina pavers and 30 new plants in mulched beds on drip. About two weeks on site; closed out May 21, 2026.

How INSTALL-IT-DIRECT Helped

Old vegetation came out and the yard was graded. A 30 foot drain line went in, the putting green base was compacted and shaped, and the Belgard Catalina pavers were laid with polymeric sand. The 650 square foot green went down with silica sand infill and three cups, then planting, drip irrigation and mulch finished the yard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a front yard putting green cost in Vista?

This front yard came in at about $25,000 to $30,000 for a 650 square foot putting green with three cups, about 465 square feet of Belgard pavers, 30 new plants, mulch, drip irrigation and a drain line. The green itself was about 30 percent of the total.

Does a synthetic putting green need watering?

No. Synthetic putting turf needs no irrigation; brushing and an occasional infill top-up keep it rolling. The drip system here waters only the planting beds.

How is a putting green installed?

The base is compacted and shaped first so the ball rolls true, drainage goes underneath, then the putting surface is laid, infilled with silica sand and fitted with cups. This green used Imperial Augusta Putt turf and three aluminum cups.

How long did it take?

The crew was on site from May 4 to May 19, 2026, and the project closed out May 21.
