Project Story

Overview

Old, worn concrete at this San Diego home in 92111 was dated and less safe to walk on. Install It Direct replaced it with about 910 square feet of Angelus Courtyard Combo pavers, planter borders of pavers set on end in concrete, 120 feet of drain line with eight downspout connections, a strip of turf and new planting. Crew on site April 28 to May 29, 2026.

The Challenge

  • The existing concrete was dated and worn.
  • Aging, uneven concrete was less safe to walk on.
  • Roof water from eight downspouts needed somewhere to go.

What Changed

The worn concrete is now about 913 square feet of Angelus pavers with clean planter borders, and the downspouts drain underground. Crew on site from late April to the end of May; closed out June 9, 2026.

How INSTALL-IT-DIRECT Helped

The old concrete came out and the base was rebuilt. Before paving, 120 feet of drain line was trenched in and eight downspouts were tied into it with a pop-up outlet. About 913 square feet of Angelus pavers went down with polymeric sand, pavers set on end in concrete formed the planter borders, and planting, mulch and a turf strip finished the space.

Over 1,000 five-star reviews and 1,500+ San Diego homeowners served.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to replace concrete with pavers in San Diego 92111?

This project came in at about $25,000 to $30,000 for about 913 square feet of Angelus pavers, 120 feet of drain line with eight downspout connections, paver planter borders, a turf strip and new planting.

Should downspouts be tied into drains under new pavers?

That is the right time to do it, because the ground is already open. This project connected eight downspouts to 120 feet of new drain line before the pavers went down.

Are pavers a good choice over clay soil?

Pavers handle small ground movement through their joints, and a single paver can be lifted and reset if it settles, where concrete tends to crack instead. In both cases a compacted base is what keeps the surface flat.

How long did it take?

The crew was on site from April 28 to May 29, 2026, and the project closed out June 9.
